Through the
fun and excitement of athletics, the Hi-Five Foundation
strives to enrich the lives of children ages 6-13. Every
child has the right to a safe environment with certain
intellectual, cultural and social opportunities. The Hi-Five
Foundation
seeks out programs that bring children of all backgrounds
together. Structured programs, events and summer camps
help make each child's formative years the most special
time of their lives.
Positive role models and quality programs immeasurably
enrich the lives of city children. It should be the goal
of every adult to pave the way for our kids. "All
the child needs
is a little help, a little hope and someone to love and
guide them." There are many worthwhile inner-city
programs that
work tirelessly serving the educational and social needs
of our
children. Our purpose is to assist those community based
programs that share our vision, in a way we can. we are
committed to
helping supply the organization with resources that can
help these groups enrich our children's lives.
Windy City Small Fry has been in existence for 15 years.
It is made up of several organizations working out of Chicago
area parks. The supporting volunteers of these organizations
are not only coaches but mentors to the children. They
guide and care for the well being of each child from
the time he or she enters the program until high school.
The sport of basketball is just the vehicle that introduces
each child to the organization. Chi-Town Basketball Camp
(Small Fry Basketball Camp) For six years, Small Fry
Basketball Camp has offered city and suburban children
an exceptional cultural. educational and athletic experience.
At Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin, the four day
long overnight program brings suburban and inner-city
kids together not only for basketball, but for some of
life's lessons, as well. The funds raised by the Hi-Five
Foundation provides scholarships for Chicago's inner
city youth.
